Minutes of the New York Wing Cadet Advisory Council meeting held on 24 September 2002 at MEG HQ.

TO: New York Wing Director of Cadet Program and all New York Wing Assistant Directors of Cadet Program, New York Wing Commanders, and Cadet New York Wing CAC Representatives

NOTE: THESE MINUTES ARE A REPORT OF DISCUSSIONS BY CADET DELEGATES. NO ACTION IS TO BE TAKEN AS A RESULT OF ANYTHING PRINTED HEREIN (EXCEPT FURTHER DISCUSSIONS BY UNIT CAC's). ALL CHANGES MADE WILL BE MADE THROUGH PROPER CHANNELS.

CALL TO ORDER: The motion to begin the 24 September 2002 meeting of the New York Wing's Cadet Advisory Council was made by Paul F Dolce, C/Capt, CAP and seconded by Joseph G Dolce, C/1Lt, CAP at 1146 hrs.

Task Force Reports:

Model Rockery

The task force officer was not present

Leadership School

C/Capt Dolce presented a choice to the council on what leadership schools there were. Basic Cadet School, NCO Academy, and Cadet Officer School.

After this was brought up a lengthy discussion was held and ended with an agreement on a Cadet Leadership School.

C/Capt Dolce asked the present council to be on the task force.

C/2Lt Paquette Agreed to head up the council.

C/1Lt Dolce joined the task force.

Council discusses the actions they have to take to make the CLS work. So the task force will develop a manual on the CLS and use it in the summer of 2004.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

NYWG 2003 Wing Conference:

Col Granville speaks to the council about the 2003 wing conference which will be held in Binghamton. He is encouraging the council to make the conference more cadet oriented filling it with cadet classes.
C/Capt Dolce believes that there should be another cadet social but earlier this time.
C/Capt Dolce decided to table the topic till the next meeting because there was not enough of the council present to decide on the activities.

This discussion was brought up along with the task force report

NEW BUSINESS:

Uniform Wear:

The council had complaints about what is the wrong and right way to wear the wing patch.
C/ Capt Dolce said that the patch should be creased on the blues. He also asked Col Granville the way he does it.
Col Granville replied that the patch should be creased on the blues.
C/ 1Lt Dolce asked about the wing patch on the BDUs.
The council decided that it should be either way because it is not stated in the regulations. The council also decided to write up a proposal stating that the wing patches will be creased on the blues, and there is a choice with the BDUs.

CAC Attendance– C/Capt Dolce brings up the point of group attendance and the fact that MEG did not show up to there own head quarters

The motion to adjourn the 24 Sept 02 NYWG CAC meeting was made by Paul Dolce, C/Capt, CAP and seconded by Joseph Dolce, C/1LT, CAP at 1700 hrs.
