MEMORANDUM FOR Cadets applying for Encampment Staff

FROM: NYWG/CPAN
      817 Stewart Avenue (Rear)
      Garden City, NY 11530-4856

SUBJECT: Encampment Staff Application Process

1. The NY Wing Encampment non-command staff selection process will be a little
different from previous years. Basically, applicants will be more formally evaluated
on their skill set for the staff positions they are applying for. A separate memo
will detail the desired skills for each staff position. This memo is for applications
NOT for command staff (i.e. NOT cadet commander, deputy cadet commander, executive
officer, or group first sergeant). If you are applying for command staff, the deadline
has passed. You can submit a command staff application, however those applications
will be treated as late.

2. Staff application packages will have the following items:
a.	Two (2) copies of the CAPF 31, with photograph attached. Relevant experience
is not needed, as it is on other forms.
b.	One (1) copy of the NYWF 96, Jan 2000 edition, with attached essay (instructions
on NYWF 96)
d.	Hold harmless agreement form and signatures. Replace "2000" with "2001" if using
an old form.
e.	Permission for Medical Treatment form and signatures. Replace "2000" with "2001"
if using an old form.

3. The application packages will be sent to NYW Headquarters, 817 Stewart Ave. Rear,
Garden City, NY, 11530-4856 postmarked by 15 MAR 01.

4. The Staff selection workshop will be the primary method for the cadet and senior
command staff to choose the remaining cadet staff. Wing CP would like to conduct the
workshop on 27-29 April 2001 at Stratton ANGB, however this has not been coordinated
yet. Those unable to attend the workshop will be interviewed or evaluated by other
means. The NY Wing Leadership workshop will be the same weekend and at the same time
as the staff selection.

6. Further memos detailing the staff workshop will follow. This memo (as well as
any other) will be posted here on the Cadet Programs webpage. Feel free to email me
at val_n_andy@hotmail.com or call me at 716-889-8502 if you have any questions.
Encampment information is linked on the Cadet Programs page as 'encampment'.
