UNITED STATES AIR FORCE AUXILIARY
NEW YORK WING HEADQUARTERS

11 Apr 2001

MEMORANDUM FOR: All Cadets

FROM: NYWG/CPAN
      817 Stewart Avenue (Rear)
      Garden City, NY 11530-4856

SUBJECT: NYW Leadership Workshop

1. New York Wing Cadet Programs is offering a great leadership opportunity
for all cadets, grade Cadet Airman and above, to attend the New York Wing
Leadership Workshop on 12 May 2001 at Stratton ANGB from 0930 to 1700.
The curriculum includes how to run a meeting, planning techniques, role of
the NCO, role of the cadet officer, leadership versus management and some
hands-on leadership problems.

2. The course curriculum is intended to assist all cadets at their home
squadron and also for encampment. The activity is conveniently scheduled
for one day, with sign-in from 0930-1000. Cost is only $10 per person,
plus whatever transportation costs you may have to get to the Albany area.

3. A signed CAPF 31 (no photo required) with $10 hand-carried is all the
necessary paperwork.

4. Cadets interested in attending only the leadership workshop are responsible
for their own transport to and from the day of the activity. The encampment
is concurrently running a staff selection exercise, and only staff applicants
will be staying for the full weekend. We realize this will cause some
difficulty with rides, as some cadets from your area will be going to the
selection exercise. However, the encampment does not have the space available
for non-applicants.

5. This memo (as well as any other) will be posted here. Feel free to email
me at val_n_andy@hotmail.com or call me at 716-889-8502 if you have any questions.

                       Andrew J. Welsh, Capt., CAP
NYW Assistant Director of Cadet Programs, North
