2 AUG 2000
MEMORANDUM FOR ALL NY WING PERSONNEL
FROM: NYWG/CPAN
SUBJECT: CAC Meeting in Niagara Falls 11-13 August Update
1. The CAC meeting in Niagara Falls is turning out to be a big event-
I'm excited to see the motivation in the wing. The deadline for getting
names on the MSA for overnight billeting has passed. SEG and NYC groups
are not finalized, however we will try to reserve a few extra rooms for
members of these groups. I have not heard from ADK or LIG yet.
2. Some reminders... the meeting starts at 1000 on 12 AUG 00, and will
end at the latest 1600. Costs for all attendees will be $5 for a
breakfast snack (donuts, juice, milk) and full lunch (pizza, wings, pop)
on Sat 12 AUG 00. Overnight guests will be on their own for other meals.
Overnight guests will have to pay $10.88 per person per night ($21.75
for the room for one night, or for one person for two nights). The
pricing will remain the same if we have an odd number of cadets.
***ALL CADETS STAYING OVERNIGHT MUST TURN IN CAPF 31 (and ONLY cadets
staying overnight; do not include photo)
3. For attractions at Niagara Falls, we will provide the opportunity to
visit the Maid of the Mist boat ride ($9 per person) and/or the Cave of
the Winds ($6 per person), as well as the Falls park (free). These are
optional parts of the tour. Uniform for the tour is civilian clothing.
We will not be going to the Canadian side of the falls. The tour is
self-guided (seniors will supervise- CAP is still liable) and should end
around 1930.
4. Directions to Niagara Falls AFB: Take I-90 to Buffalo. Take the exit
for I-290. Follow I-290 until the end- head north on I-190. Toll for
the Grand Island bridge is $0.50. Continue across Grand Island, back over
the river into the city of Niagara Falls, then exit onto Packard road (if
you miss Packard, from the ramp turn right onto Porter road, which then
ends on Packard road- make a left at that intersection). Turn right onto
Packard road from the expressway ramp. Packard road bends to the right
and turns into Lockport road. Continue about a mile from that point until
you see the entrance to the base on your right (NOT Tuscarora road- that
gate is usually closed). Get directions to the base theatre from the guard.
5. Finally, this is the list of names of people staying overnight- let me
know if there are corrections. This memo will also appear on the NYW Cadet
Programs webpage, http://www.nywgcadets.org/
