MEMORANDUM FOR: Group CC Group CP FROM: NYWG/CPAN 817 Stewart Avenue (Rear) Garden City, NY 11530-4856 SUBJECT: 2003 NY Drill Competition Letters of Intent (LOI) 1. The wing cadet programs office invites groups to participate in the 2003 National Cadet Competition by submitting a drill team. We need an early start this year- this best ensures success at competition. The wing team from NY last year started in September and won the National Championship. This is possible for any group in the wing! 2. Wing CP needs a letter from groups stating their intent to participate in the 2003 New York Wing Drill Team competition by 15 October 2001. The LOI may be sent to LtCol Blair Biddle at bcbiddle@aol.com or sent via mail to NYWG HQ/CP. The letter need only state intention of participation. 3. A registration fee of $50, non-refundable, payable to NYWG, is required. If the wing competition is cancelled, all monies will be forwarded to pay for the region registration fee. 4. This memo applies to drill team only. This is NOT for color guard. Letters of intent for color guard will be due early next year sometime, and the color guard competition will take place at a separate time from the drill competition. 5. Team rosters are to be mailed to the competition coordinator (TBD) or LtCol Blair Biddle using the old CAPF 7 (available for download at http://www.nywgcadets.org/docs/old_capf7.dot 6. The wing competition will be held in the Albany area (probably Division of Naval Affairs) as a 1-day event tentatively on 14 Dec 02. Groups are permitted to combine to form a team (ex: LIG and NYC forming a team, for example), but both group CC’s must state this in writing. 7. Groups interested in forming a team but are unsure how to go about it, download the Drill Team Promo Flyer from http://www.nywgcadets.org/dt/ (where there are also pictures and history about NYWG drill team).
