MEMORANDUM FOR Grp CC Grp CP Cadet or Composite Sq CC FROM: NYWG/CPAN 817 Stewart Avenue (Rear) Garden City, NY 11530-4856 SUBJECT: International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE) 2002 Application Procedure 1. IACE is an exciting opportunity for both cadets and senior members to represent our country to youth aviation programs worldwide. This distinction can only be bestowed upon the best cadets in the nation, and consequently, New York is only able to nominate two cadets for the activity. Members participating in IACE will be required to purchase the CAP Blazer uniform and pay a nominal activity fee, totaling approximately $400. The activity is completely paid for- airfare, lodging, transportation, tours and food. 2. National HQ has special instructions outlined in the November or December CAP News pullout and the CAP NHQ CP webpage (http://www.capnhq.gov/, click on "Cadet Programs" then "International Air Cadet Exchange 2002" when it becomes available in November). Cadets must mail in the coupons per the instructions in the CAP News. Cadet applicants must be a Cadet Captain (Earhart Award) on or before 31 December 01 as it appears on the MML in order to apply. Seniors need only have completed Level 1 in order to apply. Applications are due 31 December 01. 3. The NY Wing IACE review boards will be conducted on 19 January 2002, starting at 1000, location TBA. More information will be provided as the location is firmed up. The cadets from LIG and WNY will be interviewed after 1300 hours to allow for travel time, and cadets from all other groups will be interviewed starting at 1000 hours. Cadets that cannot attend in person for extreme extenuating circumstances may do a phone interview on 19 January 2002 (same day, details to come). 4. Cadets and seniors will apply directly to Wing HQ. Groups will not conduct review boards for IACE. Application forms must be postmarked to NYW HQ/CP by 31 DEC 01. Packages will include a CAPF 31 with photo, and a CAP resume. Wing must also have a copy of the coupon that appears in the CAP news. 6.
